A soundtrack to your life

Musically, 95% wouldn't make a best all time list of course. This isn't a musical review of any sort. It's way more personal than that. This is an unfinished list of songs that could possibly create a soundtrack to my life.

The top 10 are in order, the rest are random.

One day I'll narrow it all down and make sure I haven't missed anything.

My Soundtrack

1. Let it be - The Beatles
2. Imagine - John Lennon
3. You'll never walk alone - Gerry and the Pacemakers
4. Fields of Athenry - Paddy Reilly
5. Hey Jude - The Beatles
6. Lucky Man - The Verve
7. Fairytale of New York - The Pogues and Kirsty MacColl
8. Sweet Child of Mine - Guns 'n' Roses
9. Man in the Mirror - Michael Jackson
10. Say it Ain't So - Weezer

Don't Stop Me Now - Queen
Nessum Dorma - Pavarotti
The World Ain't Slowin Down - Ellis Paul
Time of Your Life - Greenday
When You Were Young - The Killers
Here Without You - 3 Doors Down
My Hero - Foo Fighters
Your Song - Elton John
Don't Stop Believin - Journey
The Reason - Hoobastank
So Far Away - Staind
Move Along - All American Rejects
Feeling a Moment - Feeder
Whatever - Oasis
Your Love - The Outfield
I miss you - Blink 182
Always - Blink 182
The Adventure - Angels and Airwaves

You knew it wouldn't be long...

Remember this...

I went on about my top lessons learned in college. There was an old fable I'd heard about rabbits and lions. Well I tracked it down.

THE HARES harangued the assembly, and argued that all should be equal.

The lions made this reply:

"Your words, hares, are good; but they lack both claws and teeth such as we have."

Its about how tough it can be to negotiate from weakness and is often experienced by young people in the workforce and in other power battles during our lives.

Simply put, the lions are bastards, but its tough to fight them.

Happiness

I'm becoming increasingly tired of listening to people who spend their time trying to convince themselves that they are leading a happy life, rather than leading a happy life.

They complain about how things are complicated, yet it is they who make things complicated for themselves.

Or they are buying something materialistic hoping to void a gap in their life. It is much easier to bring out a credit card than to pick up a phone to make the awkward call, or confront someone over a small niggling matter.

I think I am tired of the desperation that they exhume, the effort made to show off and yet only come accross as insecure, or its those that are too scared to sort their life out, heading down a path they don't want to go down, the further they travel the harder it is to get back. If you realize your going in the wrong direction, don't keep going, change.

A simple saying, "The sky's the limit when your hearts in it". As cheesy as it is, it makes a lot of sense. Not many risk the gamble of change, but when your happiness is at stake, maybe its worth the hassle.

"SMILE, It makes other people wonder what your up to..."

What I learned in College

I guess I should have wrote "What I learned, whilst at college" rather than "learned in college". I am certain I learned more important lessons outside the classroom, rather than inside.

Some lessons are harder to learn than others.

Here are 5 of the most important truths

1. Money makes the world go round.
2. Its not what you know, its who you know.
3. Looks are incredibly important.
4. What is and what seems to be, are two very different things.

No.5 is kind of a story I heard. I hated it. But it is so true.

The smallest animals of the jungle approached the Lions with an idea. They explained how much fairer things would be if everything was shared, and every animal was treated the same. The Lions agreed that it would be a nice idea, but it was a shame that no other animal had teeth as big as theirs.

I'll let you figure out the meaning of that yourself. The others are self explanatory. Accepting them is the hard part.

COYS

Why?

I've decided to set this up as I feel I need to become more transparent.

I think about things alot, and I feel I should share my thoughts more, to people who may be interested.

I'd hope my family and friends will take an interest, I want them to be able to say that they know me and know about me as living so far away often means you lose touch with people.

This won't be like a diary or anything lame like that, I guess it will just become a collection of random things that happen or that I see.
